The Africa Environmental Film Festival (AEFF), in collaboration with the British Columbia Environmental Film Festival (BCEFF) and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), presents a special screening exploring how environmental research can be translated into powerful, accessible storytelling.
This session features two films offering both global and local perspectives on environmental action. The Rewilders (37 mins) highlights international efforts to restore ecosystems by reintroducing key species across Africa, South America, Canada, and the United States—demonstrating how rewilding can contribute to climate resilience and biodiversity recovery. Infinite Beauty (5 mins), set in Kibera, Nairobi, follows a group of young leaders working to rehabilitate a section of the Nairobi River, showcasing community-driven solutions, youth leadership, and environmental restoration at a local level.
Together, these films reflect the connection between science, storytelling, and real-world impact—bridging research, lived experience, and public engagement.
