Do you have a film that can inspire audiences worldwide? A story that explores environmental challenges, solutions, or our relationship with the natural world? BCEFF is the platform for your work.

At BCEFF, we bridge the gap between the scientific community and the film industry, celebrating films for both their artistic merit and scientific accuracy. Each year, we bring vital stories to audiences and explore the profound connections between people and the environment through the power of cinema.

We welcome films across a wide range of genres and subjects, including stories about the natural and built environments. We also recognize the importance of the social environment and how ecological change affects communities, cultures, and livelihoods.

Topics of Interest:

  • Geopolitical issues connected to the environment, population growth, energy, food security, famine, and conflict

  • Pollution, climate change, biodiversity, and other ecological challenges and solutions

  • Environmental stories created to educate, engage, and inspire children

  • Hopeful narratives that present practical solutions and pathways toward a sustainable future
