Ocean Week Canada 2027

Join the British Columbia Environmental Film Festival (BCEFF) and partners across Canada for Ocean Week Canada 2027—a national program of online and in-person screenings connecting communities through film, science, storytelling, and public dialogue.

Taking place during the first week of June 2027, the celebration will bring together filmmakers, scientists, oceanographers, environmental organizations, educators, youth leaders, and communities to explore our relationship with water, oceans, biodiversity, climate change, and environmental stewardship.

The program will feature a curated selection of environmental films submitted to BCEFF, including selected water- and ocean-related films from the 2026–2027 festival season. Screenings will be followed by community discussions, filmmaker conversations, and expert panels designed to make complex environmental issues more accessible, emotional, and engaging through the power of cinema.

Selected films will also be recognized with special awards presented by the Centre for Ocean Literacy Collaboration in celebration of Ocean Week Canada.

Online programming will make the films accessible to audiences across the country, while in-person screenings and community events will take place in selected locations throughout Canada.

Stay tuned as we announce more screenings, participating communities, selected films, special guests, and events across the country.

Interested in hosting a screening, becoming a community partner, or participating in Ocean Week Canada 2027? We would love to hear from you and explore how you can be part of this nationwide celebration.
